NCALNE

VisionWest Training Centre transforms lives by assisting individuals to gain & improve skills needed in the workplace. NCALNE (Level 5) involves a 6 month extra mural course of study towards a professional qualification intended to raise the skills of the adult educator to develop the literacy and numeracy skills of learners in the context of a training/education programme.

The NCALNE qualification is particularly relevant for existing practitioners who are recognised as adult educators in their own field.
There are three assessments and people awarded NCALNE are able to:

• identify literacy and numeracy demands of their programme
• embed literacy and numeracy skills development into their programme
• understand historical and theoretical issues underpinning adult literacy and numeracy education
• demonstrate knowledge of Maori adult literacy… and much more
