Emergency and Transitional Housing

What kind of housing is available?

Two and three bedroom units in West Auckland. The accommodation is furnished and fully equipped with kitchen, dining, bathroom and laundry. Children will probably need to share a bedroom.

Who qualifies?

  • Single Women (shared accommodation)
  • Families of all kinds

Unfortunately VisionWest is unable to provide refuge services or mental health services.
There is a referral and interview process for VisionWest Emergency and Transitional Housing.

What does it cost

An affordable rent is set at around 75-85% of the market rate. VisionWest Community Housing has an agreement with WINZ to have these costs paid directly to VisionWest whilst people stay in the Emergency and Transitional Housing accommodation. The Community Housing Staff will help set this up before a tenant moves in.

How long can people stay in the accommodation?

The average stay is three to five months, although there is provision for a longer stay after consultation with the Community Housing Staff.
