Centre Manager – Shirley Motupalli.

Hi, I am Shirley. I work here at Vision West Christian Kindergarten as the Centre Manager and am privileged to lead a qualified team to strengthen children’s aspirations for a bright future. My main motto is to implement new programs specially designed to meet children’s social, physical, intellectual, creative, cultural and emotional requirements including the parents, Whanua and the wider community.  I believe that the years 0-5 are the most important years in a child’s life. I have 10 years of teaching experience in India with the Qualification of Bachelors in Teaching and Masters in Arts. I am also a NZ qualified Bachelor in Teaching from University of Auckland and have been working in the ECE for the past 8 years in Christian day care centre and Kindergarten. I am a fully registered teacher from 2008. I am married for 20 years and I am blessed with 2 boys aged 19 and 15.

Our Teachers

Hi, my name is Youngran. I have a Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood Education). I have my provisional registration for teaching and am currently working towards my full registration. I have been part of the team at VisionWest Christian Kindergarten since 2004, first as a volunteer, then later as a teacher. I grew up in Korea but have spent many years living in New Zealand. I enjoy taking photos and recording the children’s learning for their individual portfolios. I have a special interest in hand drumming which I love to share with the children. I have three children, two in their teens and one younger.

Hi, my name is Sharon. I have a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood) and will have my full registration as a teacher in October 2011. My family emigrated from South Africa to New Zealand some time ago. I began working with young children in 2004 after bringing up my own four children. I came on staff at VisionWest Christian Kindergarten in 2010. I am passionate about the early learning years of a child and want to see each child nurtured and encouraged towards their true potential.

Hi, my name is Liz. I have worked in the Early Childhood sector for many years having gained my Diploma in Teaching in the 1970’s. I am a fully registered teacher and joined the VisionWest team as a permanent staff member in 2009 after enjoying working at the centre as a casual reliever. I enjoy the great outdoors and seeing the children active, climbing, jumping and gaining confidence in their abilities. I have three grown children of my own, and I also enjoy travelling and family life.

Hi, my name is Anne. I have extensive experience in the field of special education, mostly gained in the British Education and Fostering systems. I have spent time living in Uganda as well as England and New Zealand and have a deep understanding of the importance of cultural practices to families. I have a special interest in working with children, helping them to overcome any obstacles that may hold them back from their learning. As well as two children of primary school age, I have four grown up children and many grandchildren.
