Carl & Jenny found the help they needed

One family are delighted that they were referred to VisionWest Baptist Home Healthcare because they say they have “delivered a solution” that works for their family. Carl and Jenny Larkin have a two year old son with autism. When they came to VisionWest they had a ‘carer’ in mind for their son, Keegan, someone who they already knew. This was very important in their situation as little Keegan doesn’t cope well with change. After discussing the family’s needs, the clinical team agreed that this support worker was the best person for the job and offered to employ her and train her as soon as possible.

Carl says VisionWest made this process easy for them and “took away the headache” of organising care for their son. The family were very apprehensive about engaging with a large agency who they thought might dictate who they had as a ‘carer’ but their experience has been nothing but positive. Carl says the staff have been very helpful and easy to work with. The added bonus of working with an organisation like VisionWest is that they now have a back-up plan if their support worker is sick or on holiday. They have put the structure around the care for Keegan.
